More about me

I am a retired math prof, and I have an enduring interest in K-12 education that began  many years ago when I started teaching a course for pre-service elementary teachers.

I belong to the SNAP mathematics foundation, which is a group of teachers, math profs, and others interested in math education. SNAP’s main activity is the promotion of a particular type of puzzle-based math fairs (see here).

I am a firm believer that creating curiosity in students is the best way to engender a desire to learn mathematics, and I don’t particularly care what methods are used.
